Denmark – VRpilot, a leader in virtual reality-based pilot training tools, has released a comparative overview highlighting the advantages of VR over traditional procedure training tools. The evaluation underscores why an increasing number of airlines are adopting VR for cockpit familiarization and procedural training.
The comparison benchmarks VR systems against Part-Task Trainers (PTTs), static cockpit posters, and traditional Computer-Based Training (CBT).
VR was the only platform to fully support:
Training guidance
Muscle memory development
Training feedback
Immersive visuals and sound
Enclosed cockpit-like environment
Accurate control positioning
Virtual crewmember interaction for self-study
Remote training and company SOP references
Data capture for training analytics
Portability and cost-effectiveness
In contrast, PTTs and static trainers scored significantly lower, especially in areas such as feedback, portability, and SOP integration.
VRpilot emphasizes that selecting the right training medium impacts safety, learning efficiency, and operational readiness.
