VistaJet Becomes First Business Aviation Operator Certified for Evidence-Based Training

29th Aug 2025

Malta – VistaJet has become the first-ever business aviation operator worldwide to achieve certification for Baseline Evidence-Based Training (EBT), a methodology recognized by European regulators as the new global benchmark for flight crew training and safety.

  • VistaJet began implementing EBT in 2018, years ahead of any other business aviation operator.

  • The certification validates Vista’s longstanding investment in safety innovation and its proactive approach to shaping future flight crew training standards.

  • EBT replaces traditional maneuver-based training with a data-driven methodology that tailors instruction to operational needs and real pilot performance.

  • Key components of VistaJet’s EBT program:

    • In-house simulator instructors and examiners with extensive global operational experience.

    • A robust standardization and concordance program ensuring consistency across fleets and crews.

    • Comprehensive data gathering, analyzing tens of thousands of data points to refine training continuously.

    • Integration of operational and industry-wide safety data into training content.

Statements

  • Nick van der Meer, Chief Operating Officer, Vista: “Whilst others wait, Vista builds. We were the first to implement EBT in business aviation—years ahead of the industry—and we’ve set the blueprint others now look up to. Achieving this certification is more than a regulatory milestone; it’s proof of Vista’s relentless commitment to protecting our clients and crew. Safety is a responsibility we take personally, every single day.”
