“As the Student Services and Business Development Manager you will manage FTA’s admissions team, ensuring that policies, processes, and operations are developed and implemented effectively and in line with strategic objectives.

You will be responsible for development and strategic direction of the school’s student recruitment strategy, maximising new student conversions from initial enquiry to enrolment on a course. This role will manage the team who are the ‘face of FTA’, the first voice prospective students and families hear when calling about admissions and the people they see when arriving to go on their tour.

The Student Services and Admissions Team is the first point of contact for students and remains in contact throughout the student lifecycle to graduation ensuring they have an excellent customer experience. This role will be responsible for the strategic direction of accommodation and pastoral care services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Day-to-day operational management of the admissions team, ensuring robust and efficient admissions procedures and systems are in place to develop and deliver the student recruitment strategy and meet recruitment targets.
• Management of the student lifecycle from prospect to graduation.
• Developing management reporting from the admissions data to inform the strategic direction of business development activity. Develop the usage of HubSpot to automate and streamline.
• Build and foster relationships with accommodation providers ensuring that we can react quickly and provide cost effective accommodation solutions when needed.
• Building relationships and collaborate with external partners to grow partnerships.
• Manage the schools outreach programme in the local area to develop a pipeline of future pilot trainees.
• Ensure pastoral support is at the centre of the student services with a yearly plan of events and a clear and customer focussed student services team.
• Lead on a range of admissions support activities primarily tours of the FTA facilities for potential students. Direct and manage the team to develop new ideas for tours, open day and events.
• Place focus on increasing the diversity of the population of students ensuring FTA is an inclusive place to study.

This is an excellent opportunity for a customer focussed individual to join and lead the Student Admissions team at our base at Brighton City Airport.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• A strong communicator with excellent analytical skills.
• The ability to empathise with the needs of students and potential candidates and to understand their career and employment aspirations.
• An ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Experience of sales would be advantageous.
• Good decision-making skills and a sense of judgement to reach timely and concise conclusions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ideally you will be educated to degree level.
• Understanding of the challenges facing student recruitment and the airline industry.

EXPERIENCE

• Experience in managing a team and developing strategic direction of a function.
• Experience of working in a higher education environment specifically related to the admission of students.
• A proven commitment to providing a positive customer experience.
• Experience of a CRM system.
• Experience of developing services to meet customers’ expectations and identifying ways of improving the student experience.
