“2022 ‘Best Year on Record’ for United States Pilot Hiring” – FAPA

A report from the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) citing the figures from the Future and Active Pilot Advisors (FAPA), the US airline industry is seeing a huge increase in pilots hired from January to October of this year – 11,372 pilots hired by 12 major airlines. According to FAPA, it is projected that by the end of the year, 13,500 pilots will be hired making 2022 the ‘best year on record’ for pilot hiring. According to AOPA, figure was set in 2021 when there were 5,426 pilots hired, which has never happened since 2000.
