2023 Aviation Education & Career Expo at ProJet Aviation to Award over $166K in Scholarships
ProJet Aviation will host the 17th Annual Aviation Education & Career Expo on Friday, November 3rd, 2023, at the Leesburg Executive Airport, United States. Designed to inspire and educate, the Expo provides an unparalleled opportunity for students drawn to aviation and aerospace to engage directly with seasoned professionals and explore an array of promising career paths in global demand.
ProJet anticipates welcoming over 900 students, educators, and parents to the Expo, which is perfectly tailored to showcase the thrilling world of aviation and aerospace to young adults aged between 16-22. The event goes beyond traditional job exploration, providing students with access to valuable paid internships, monetary scholarships, school-specific awards, and flight training opportunities.
The Aviation Education & Career Expo highlights the dynamic and diverse nature of the aviation and aerospace industry, presenting keynote speeches, live demonstrations, and exhibitions by representatives from over 70 aviation organizations. Participating organizations include the US military, emergency medical airlift teams, law enforcement agencies, aircraft maintenance and avionics firms, drone and flight simulator operators, flight schools, and many more.
The guiding theme for this year’s Expo is: “Explore Beyond the Horizon.” ProJet Aviation’s Julie O’Brien, Co-founder of the event, says, “Working alongside our esteemed sponsors, we strive to provide a platform that blends experiences, mentorship, and scholarships, inspiring students to uncover and pursue their passion for the skies.”
The Expo is proud to welcome an illustrious lineup of guest speakers and demonstrators, including:
- Micah “Snoops” Lenox, entrepreneurial leader and former senior naval officer, showcasing aerial maneuvers in an L-39 Albatross Fighter Jet.
- Chelsea Montgomery, former Expo scholarship winner and now a successful Boeing 737 airline, medical evacuation, and charter pilot.
- Chris Dueweke, retired naval aviator and current Delta Airlines Captain.
- The Military Honor Guard Drill Team.

The 2023 Expo will also commemorate remarkable figures in the field of aviation with the awarding of Legacy Scholarships, paying tribute to Sarah Thompson (co-founder of the Expo), Elaine Harmon (WASP and the first female soldier to be interred at Arlington cemetery), and Fury Gilad (The mother of ProJet’s founder, and an unwavering supporter of all things aviation).
