Australian Local Government Seeking Operator for 300 Student Flight Training Facility
An Australian Local Government is seeking an operator for flight training infrastructure (International Flight Training Tamworth), a purpose-built facility satisfying the needs of airline flight training academies and previously the Australian Defence Force. The training facility can accommodate pilot training immediately for 300+ students, CASA-compliant, continually upgraded to meet military standards, equipped with indoor hanger, existing MRO operations and TAFE NSW Aviskills facility, among others.
Site facilities overview:
- Capacity for over 300 students
- Onsite accommodation (Seven accommodation blocks, with a total of 230+ individual rooms with ensuites)
- Parking for 41 aircraft (34 are under cover)
- Main runway is 2,200m by 45m, the parallel runway is 1,100m by 18m with future extendable capacity
- Main runway is equipped with a new Instrument Landing System
- Fuel Tanker Refuelling Capability
The facility is located about 400km north-west of Sydney, 250km from Newcastle and 550km south of Brisbane.
