Boeing Launches Virtual Airplane Trainer at 2025 European Aviation Training Summit
Global – Boeing has unveiled its new Virtual Airplane Procedures Trainer (VAPT) at the European Aviation Training Summit, introducing a next-generation pilot training platform powered by Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Flight Simulator. The tool is designed to offer immersive, customizable, and accessible procedural training to pilots and airline training teams worldwide.
-
The Virtual Airplane Procedures Trainer (VAPT) is the first application in Boeing’s new Virtual Airplane suite and targets enhanced procedural training using high-fidelity 3D simulations.
-
The platform supports both desktop and iPad use and is initially configured for the Boeing 737 MAX, with additional aircraft models planned.
-
VAPT is built to enable pilots to practice cockpit procedures outside traditional simulator environments, potentially reducing simulator familiarisation time and improving training readiness.
-
The platform includes an intuitive authoring tool that allows training operators to create, modify, and deploy training content rapidly across their programs, offering real-time updates and customization options.
-
By leveraging cloud and simulation technology, Boeing aims to enhance training scalability and accessibility, while maintaining high standards of aviation safety and pilot performance.
