Boeing to Build 96 Apaches for Poland as Deliveries Target 2028

15th Dec 2025

Poland – Boeing will build 96 AH-64E Apache attack helicopters for the Polish Armed Forces under a U.S. Army Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract valued at nearly USD 4.7 billion, positioning Poland to field the largest Apache fleet outside the United States with deliveries expected to start in 2028.

  • The U.S. Army awarded the FMS contract to Boeing at a value of nearly USD 4.7 billion, covering Apache production for international customers including 96 aircraft for Poland.

  • Deliveries for Poland’s AH-64E fleet are expected to begin in 2028.

  • Poland will become the 19th global Apache operator and is expected to have the largest fleet of Apaches outside the U.S.

  • The Polish Ministry of National Defence (MND) is already training pilots and maintainers; the MND currently leases eight Apaches from the U.S. Army.

  • An offset agreement between Boeing and the Polish MND (announced previously) includes local industry participation in maintenance and support, plus Boeing-backed training programs and development of a composite laboratory—elements that can expand Poland’s domestic MRO and training capacity ahead of fleet induction.

  • Boeing states there are more than 1,300 Apaches operating worldwide with sustainment and training support provided by Boeing Global Services, underscoring the scale of the global support ecosystem Poland will be joining.

Statements

  • “This important agreement allows us to begin building one of the largest and most formidable Apache fleets that the world has ever seen,” said Christina Upah, vice president of Boeing’s Attack Helicopter Programs. “Working closely with the Polish Armed Forces, we’re focused on disciplined execution to help enhance Poland’s defense capabilities and keep up with the strong demand for the most advanced attack helicopter.”
