Jordan – Global flight simulator manufacturer CAE has confirmed that a new Airbus A320ceo/neo Full Flight Simulator (FFS) at Jordan Airline Training & Simulation (JATS) in Amman is ready for training following approval by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Jordan Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC). The simulator will support pilot training requirements for Royal Jordanian, which owns JATS, as the airline continues modernising its Airbus narrowbody fleet.

  • Royal Jordanian reported a fleet of 36 aircraft as of September 8, 2026, including 17 Airbus A320neo Family aircraft. The airline plans to increase its A320neo Family fleet to 18 aircraft by the end of 2026 and 20 by 2028, supporting continued demand for Airbus flight crew training.
  • According to CAE, the simulator was delivered on an accelerated schedule and is now available for training. The manufacturer stated that the device will support both current Royal Jordanian pilots and future flight crew training requirements.
  • JATS provides Airbus A320 type rating, recurrent and instructor training, with its initial type rating course incorporating ground school, simulator sessions and an optional Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) module.
  • AFM previously reported that JATS selected CAE to supply its first CAE-built Airbus A320 FFS in July 2026. The training centre had previously received a CAE-manufactured Embraer E2 FFS in September 2024 to support Royal Jordanian's regional fleet operations.
