Canadian Airline is Looking for Pilot Training Development Manager
Canadian Low-Cost Carrier – Flair Airlines is currently seeking a permanent, full-time Pilot Training Development Manager who will work within the Flight Operations training team to ensure industry-leading training is delivered to Flair crew members. The Pilot Training Development Manager is responsible for assisting in developing syllabi, liaising with training providers, providing direction to instructors, and ensuring all training syllabi are regulatory compliant.
Primary Job Functions:
The duties of the Pilot Training Development Manager include:
- Collaborate with the training team to develop training scripts, PPCs, briefings, and all required course material to ensure training quality
- Provide positive leadership and support for instructors
- Assist Manager, Pilot Training to monitor and implement instructor standards
- Assist in the development of best practice policy for implementation of training
- Act as an active contributor to the training programs continual improvement philosophy
- Serve as SME (Subject Matter Expert) for all training-related matters
- Assist in setting training policy
- Maintain communication channels within Flair operations structure and coordinate with 3rd party training sites
- Support the SMS (Safety Management System) program through participation and reporting
- Help oversee Synthetic Flight Instructors and training delivery for all courses
Secondary Job Functions:
- FTD/SIM Training – as required
- Special Projects
- Such other duties as assigned by the Company from time to time.
Safety Duties, Accountabilities, Authorities, and Responsibilities:
- Involved in reactive and proactive risk assessments;
- Initiate the creation and implementation of corrective action plans as a result of Event/Hazard Reports, Preventative/Corrective Action Requests (PCAR), or audit findings; and
- Encourage active participation in the SMS for all personnel.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of training experience preferred
- Experience teaching on the 73C (or equivalent) aircraft preferred
- Current ACP preferred
- In-depth knowledge of Transport Canada regulations an asset
- Preferred significant relevant training experience in the airline industry
- Previous CRM/Upgrade experience preferred
Required Competencies:
- Strong LTW (Leadership and Teamwork) skills are a must
- Strong WLM (Workload Management) skills are a must
- Strong COM (Communication) skills (verbal and written) are a must
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Must be highly motivated and possess strong initiative
- Solid understanding and experience of industry training programs such as AQP/EBT
- Proficient with MS Office products (i.e. MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
