06th Oct 2024

Fiji Airways has successfully completed the acceptance and qualification of its brand new A350 Full Flight Simulator. This advanced training device is set to enhance pilot proficiency and support safe, efficient flight operations across the airline’s network. The addition of the A350 simulator represents a significant milestone in Fiji Airways’ commitment to maintaining high standards in pilot training and operational excellence by training within the country.

Fiji Airways Aviation Academy, the airline owned aviation academy and full flight simulator training center announced in September that it had officially commissioned two state-of-the-art CAE 7000XR Full Flight Simulators for the Airbus A350 and ATR-72, along with two new CAE 500XR Fixed Training Devices (FTD’s) for the Airbus A330 and Boeing 737-Max 8.

These cutting-edge simulators, certified by EASA – European Union Aviation Safety Agency and CAAF, reinforce its mission to provide world-class training for pilots and engineers in Fiji. By offering advanced training locally, it helps the airline team stay closer to home while developing their careers, reducing the need for overseas training.

With an investment of FJ$160 million in new pilot training devices, the Academy is well-positioned to meet the growing needs of Fiji Airways and third-party airlines, expanding its role as a leading aviation training center in the Pacific.

MD & CEO, Andre Viljoen, “The addition of these new full flight simulators highlights our dedication to providing the highest standards of training and safety and reinforces our commitment to establishing Fiji as a regional leader in aviation excellence.
