Denmark – Flight training management software provider FlightLogger has introduced Wingman, an artificial intelligence (AI) assistant integrated into its flight school management platform, enabling training organisations to retrieve operational information through natural-language questions. The new functionality is designed to help flight schools identify scheduling gaps, monitor pilot qualification requirements and review training records without manually compiling information from multiple reports and spreadsheets.

  • Wingman allows training managers to identify upcoming medical certificate, aircraft rating and English Language Proficiency (ELP) expirations within specified periods, such as the next 90 days, and examine which scheduled training activities could be affected by those requirements.
  • The assistant can analyse flight school bookings to identify training sessions without assigned aircraft or instructors, helping operations teams identify outstanding resource allocations before scheduled activities.
  • Training managers and instructors can also use Wingman to identify completed lessons with missing grades or instructor comments, supporting training documentation, student progression monitoring and record completeness.
  • Users interact with Wingman through natural-language queries rather than navigating individual reporting modules. The assistant retrieves information from the training organisation's existing FlightLogger data and presents results in charts and tables for operational review.
  • The system is intended to reduce the time required to extract and interpret scheduling, compliance and training information, particularly for flight schools managing multiple aircraft, instructors and student cohorts. Wingman provides information for staff to assess, while operational decisions remain with authorised personnel.
  • FlightLogger introduced Wingman during the European Aviation Training Summit (EATS) 2026, held from November 3–5 in Cascais, Portugal. The company also presented two additional platform developments: Suggested Scheduling, which prepares draft training schedules for staff approval, and Maintenance Hub, which brings aircraft maintenance information into the same operational environment.
  • Wingman operates within FlightLogger's existing user-access permissions, meaning users can only retrieve information they are already authorised to view. The assistant is positioned as a query and reporting tool rather than an autonomous decision-making system, retaining human control over scheduling, compliance and training management actions.
  • AFM previously reported that FlightLogger introduced AI-powered Student Summaries and a consolidated Performance tab in March 2026, providing instructors with automated reviews of student performance, grading trends and areas requiring further training. The company subsequently introduced automated training prerequisites and aircraft-model certificate requirements in September.
