  • BAA Training will open 6 bay simulator training centre where at least 4 of the total 6 devices will be dedicated to current and future Transavia France pilot training needs in Q4 2022.

BAA Training, a part of Avia Solutions Group, and Transavia Airlines, a part of Air France-KLM Group, have signed a term sheet contract that sets out the conditions based on which BAA Training will open a new training centre dedicated to Transavia’s pilot training needs. The new aviation training centre situated near Paris Orly Airport (ORY) in France and containing 6 simulator bays will be operated by BAA Training itself as enforced by an exclusive partnership agreement the parties will conclude shortly.

Egle Vaitkeviciute, CEO at BAA Training, says: “The fact that BAA Training has reached an agreement with Transavia France in regards to establishing a new training centre in France and entering a long-term partnership is yet another evidence we have the necessary know-how to work in tandem with world-class airlines. Today, we begin a new BAA Training France story as we become a reliable long-term partner ready to work hard and adapt to fit Transavia France’s varied needs.”

Air France and Transavia are known for setting exceptionally high competency and safety standards and paying close attention to choosing and training their employees – pilots, instructors, engineers, etc. For BAA Training, earning their trust meant creating a training environment complying with high-quality industry standards, installing state-of-the-art equipment and providing professional pilot training services.

Hervé Boury, Chief Operations Officer at Transavia France says: “Transavia places flight safety at the heart of our concerns. By investing in a partnership with BAA Training France, Transavia France will rely on a new training center for our pilots. This center will meet our requirements by implementing tailor-made and specific programs. The up to 4 simulator bays dedicated to Transavia will be a key asset to support the growth of our company.”

New training centre’s equipement

The new training centre BAA Training France accommodating 6 simulator bays will be ready to accept the first state-of-the-art simulator in Q4 2022.

The brand-new training facility will incorporate 4 simulators dedicated to Transavia France’s purposes. It is planned to install the following types of full flight simulators: Boeing 737NG, Boeing 737 MAX and Airbus A320neo. Additionally, a Door and Overwing exit trainer, 2 FTD Level 2 devices and other training equipment are being considered.

Other BAA Training’s already implemented global projects

BAA Training is confident about its capabilities to execute such an extensive and costly project as BAA Training France since it has already opened a few simulator centres worldwide, meeting tight deadlines and the highest quality requirements.

A modern training centre in Zhengzhou city, established on a franchise basis, marked the first BAA Training name’s appearance in China in June 2020, despite the Covid-19 crisis. It was designed to provide the capacity of 40,000 flight hours per year and train approximately 4,000 pilots.

The recently opened simulator training centre in Barcelona – BAA Training Spain – today is fully functional. Its Airbus A320 full flight simulator’s hours are being actively booked, and the second full flight simulator – Boeing 737 MAX – has just arrived at the training facility. Last but not least, one more Boeing 737NG FFS and two fixed base FTD Level 2 devices will also join the mix of equipment at BAA Training Spain and offer cost-trimming opportunities for corporate and individual clients.

A few more international projects are planned to be accomplished in years to come.
