Global Pilot Training Group BAA Training’s Facility in Vietnam Receives CAAV Certification for Boeing B737NG FFS
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam based full flight simulator training center BAA Training Vietnam has shared that its newly added B737 NG FFS, the first full flight simulator of the Boeing model at BAA Training Vietnam, has been certified as ‘ready for training’ by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV). This qualification ensures that the simulator accurately represents the behaviour of the B737 NG aircraft in various flight conditions, allowing pilots to train effectively and safely. Additionally, BAA Training Vietnam is progressing toward obtaining approval from the authorities of South Asian countries and EASA in the future.
Vytautas Jankauskas, Managing Director of BAA Training Vietnam, stated: “We are pleased to announce that our full flight simulator fleet has expanded with the addition of this Boeing 737 NG. We made this strategic decision in response to the high market potential in Asian countries for the Type Rating and Dry Lease of this aircraft type. We anticipate that clients from South Asia and other regions will heavily utilize the simulator.”
The B737 NG full flight simulator is a complete replica of the B737 NG aircraft, providing an immersive environment for pilot training. One key aspect of training on the B737 NG simulator is its ability to deliver essential Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT), which is crucial for pilots to learn how to recognize, prevent, and recover from unusual aircraft attitudes or situations that could lead to loss of control.
Currently, with this new addition, the training center is equipped with a total of three full flight simulators, the other two being A320 NEO and A320 CEO. Other devices include A320 APT and Real Fire Fighting Trainer. By the end of 2024, a Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainer (CEET) will be delivered, extending the scope of training services for cabin crew both within and outside Vietnam.
