CAE has reached a significant milestone in its efforts to bring sustainable aviation technology to the market, with Transport Canada issuing the G-1 Issue Paper that sets the certification criteria for CAE’s electric-powered aircraft. This crucial step advances the development of CAE’s electric conversion kits for the Piper Archer aircraft, a major initiative aimed at reducing aviation’s carbon footprint.
Elisen, CAE’s Design Approval Organization (DAO), has been at the forefront of this effort, working closely with partners like Piper Aircraft, H55, and Safran Electrical & Power. After nearly two years of collaboration, the certification basis was successfully secured, overcoming the challenges of integrating new technologies and navigating complex performance-based regulations.
