Greek Flight School Egnatia Aviation Turns 19, Highlights Growth, Diversity, and Global Reach
Greece — Egnatia Aviation has marked its 19th anniversary, celebrating its transformation from a visionary training initiative into one of Europe’s leading Approved Training Organisations (ATO) with a global footprint in pilot education, research, and airline partnerships.

Established July 8, 2006, the academy has since graduated over 2,700 pilots from 61+ nationalities, maintaining a 95.7% employment rate within one year of graduation.

Its fleet of 30 aircraft (22 operational) supports an annual throughput of 12,000 training flights across more than 325 flying days per year.

Egnatia holds accreditations from EASA, the UAE GCAA, and the Qatar CAA, enabling it to serve as a trusted training partner for airlines across Europe, the Middle East, and beyond.

Longstanding airline collaborations include Aegean Airlines, Iraqi Airways (exclusive training provider), Olympic Air, and Wizz Air.

Since 2023, training has been further enhanced by the academy’s dedicated Lydia Aerodrome, which supports up to 35,000 flight hours annually, with integrated hangar, CAMO, and Part 145 maintenance services.

Academic and research partnerships include the BSc in Aviation Management with Pilot Studies offered with the American College of Thessaloniki, and participation in international aviation research programs such as Demoquas and Haiku.
