Latvian Airline Graduates 20 Pilots from Own Pilot Training Academy in 2023 and Purchases More Aircraft

airBaltic, the flag carrier of Latvia, announced that 20 graduates of the airBaltic Pilot Academy joined the company as First Officers in 2023. During the same year, seven new Airbus A220-300 aircraft joined the fleet of the airline.

airBaltic also signed a significant contract for 30 Airbus A220-300 aircraft , with purchase rights for additional 20. According to Martin Gauss, President and CEO of airBaltic, this purchase aligns with the goal of operating a fleet of 100 such aircraft by 2030.

Currently, the airBaltic fleet consists of 46 Airbus A220-300 aircraft, making it one of the youngest fleets in Europe. The airline also owns and operates its own flight school and full flight simulator training center.
