Azerbaijan Airlines Selects Simulator Manufacturer ALSIM and Buys an AL172 Flight Simulator

France headquartered simulator manufacturer ALSIM is delighted to announce that Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), situated at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku, has selected an ALSIM AL172 for its training needs.

The ALSIM AL172, built to FAA FTD Level 5 standards and already certified as an AATD, is a replica of a brand-new Cessna 172SP Skyhawk with a real Garmin G1000 NXI and GFC700 autopilot.

According to Ilham Amirov, Vice-President of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC “The national flag carrier of Azerbaijan, by purchasing the AL172 flight simulator manufactured by ALSIM, will improve the quality of training of AZAL pilots and the effectiveness of their training. Thus, with the help of a flight simulator, airline pilots can improve their skills and gain a profound understanding of flight processes. The state-of-art ALSIM AL172 simulator, which has high-tech equipment and is an exceptional simulation system, will allow the pilots to train in conditions as close as possible to a real-life flight. Equipped with advanced technology, it models all kinds of flight scenarios, including various weather conditions, emergencies, and stressful situations on board. Such training allows pilots to better cope with real-life situations and improve their efficiency. The new ALSIM AL172 simulator will be used not only for basic pilot training but also for skills development and pilot training for more complex flight tasks.”

The National Aviation Academy of the Republic of Azerbaijan has existed for more than 30 years, since 1992. It is one of the leading training centers in the CIS which prepares qualified aviation professionals of higher, advanced, and specialized levels. The Academy is certified by the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) to train and retrain civil aviation personnel and is included in the Register of the ICAO and ECAC higher education institutions of civil aviation. It also has the status of a regional IATA center for the “Carriage of dangerous goods by air”.
