Simulator Manufacturer, Simnest, Launches New Simulator and Introduces itself to Asian Market
For Simnest Aviation, this year’s Asia Pacific Airline Training Symposium (APATS) marks a milestone for more than one reason. On one hand, it will be the first time that the simulator manufacturer – already well known in the European market – will be present in Asia, and on the other hand, Simnest Aviation will officially launch its brand-new product, the Simnest A320 AATD on the APATS.
However, Simnest Aviation is best known in the aviation industry for its high-fidelity Airbus A320 FNPT II APS MCC simulators, at APATS three Simnest products will be offered to the aviation professionals of Asia-Pacific region: the aforementioned flagship product the Simnest A320 FNPT II APS MCC, its upgraded version to the FTD level, and the new Simnest A320 AATD that will be officially launched to the public for the first time at APATS.
Simnest’s Advanced Aviation Training Device is a vivid resemblance of the Airbus A320 aircraft both in its design and behavior. It includes all the necessary hardware and software characteristics that their clients need to provide a qualitative systems and procedures training or to ease off the transition to Airbus A320 for non-type rated pilots.
Despite the abbreviation AATD in its name, core instruments are the same as in the Simnest’s flagship product A320 FNPT II APS MCC simulator, all its hardware are physical with tactile switches and what is more, the same software ensures its operation as well. Thanks to the mostly unchanged main elements, the cadets can experience the realistic behavior of the Airbus A320 in a high-fidelity environment.
There are four main differences between the A320 AATD and our flagship product the A320 FNPT II APS MCC simulator. The AATD version comes without an enclosed cockpit, the visual system contains either an ultra-wide or two smaller displays instead of the high-definition direct projection system and it is not equipped with OEM parts. On the other hand, the price is what distinguishes the A320 AATD from the A320 FNPT II MCC, which is a factor of paramount importance to owners and management.
More information on the above three Simnest products will be available from Simnest Aviation staff in person at APATS 2023, booth 207! Make sure to visit their booth, as they have arrived with a very special offer exclusively for APATS participants!

World’s Leading UPRT Provider, APS, Highlights Next-Generation Flight School Upset Training at APATS 2023
Aviation Performance Solutions (APS) is poised to make a significant impact at the 19th Asia Pacific Airline Training Symposium (APATS) held on 29-30 August 2023 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. Building on the momentum from their successful presentation at WATS 2023, APS will emphasize the importance of Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) in the aviation industry.
Paul BJ Ransbury, CEO of APS and Chairman of the NBAA Safety Committee, will be presenting on the first day of the symposium, sharing invaluable insights on “Effective Next Gen Flight School Upset Training.” As a former fighter pilot, military instructor, and airline pilot, Ransbury brings a wealth of experience to the table. His presentation will delve deep into the significance of UPRT, especially in light of the current pilot shortage and the persistent threat of Loss of Control In-flight (LOC-I).
The aviation community recognizes UPRT as a pivotal solution to combat commercial aviation’s number one fatal threat: LOC-I. Ransbury will highlight the differences between implementing ICAO recommendations versus EASA-compliant UPRT at an ab initio level. He will also show how major US air carriers and feeder schools, such as United Airlines and United Aviate Academy, have seamlessly integrated robust on-aircraft and simulator-based UPRT into their Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
“Our purpose at APS is ‘We Help Pilots Bring Everyone Home Safely.’ We deliver on our brand promise of ‘Every Pilot Trained – In Control – All The Time’ through robust, comprehensive Upset Prevention and Recovery Training,” said Ransbury.
APATS 2023, themed “New Talent, New Technologies, New Training,” is expected to bring together leading experts from airlines, ATOs, manufacturers, regulators, and the training industry. The symposium aims to promote best practices in pilot and cabin crew training, ensuring operational safety as the aviation industry gears up for rapid expansion.
About Aviation Performance Solutions (APS)
