Skyborne is Seeking to Hire a Deputy Head of Training to Support Growing Operations in 2025

United Kingdom – Skyborne, a global pilot training group which operates flight training bases in the United Kingdom and the United States, is seeking to hire a Deputy Head of Training for its Gloucestershire, UK base. The individual will support the Head of Training in managing training operations and maintaining high regulatory, operational, and instructional standards. This full-time position plays a key role in overseeing instructor teams, driving training quality, and ensuring compliance with UKCAA/EASA regulations.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Hold or have held a UK CAA CPL(A)/IR or ATPL(A)

  • Previous ATO, AOC, or UK military management experience

  • In-depth understanding of Part-FCL, Part-ORA, and Part-NCO regulations

  • Right to live and work in the UK

  • Ability to travel to the USA

  • Clean driving licence

Highly Desirable:

  • Current UK CAA and/or EASA FI with Instrument, Multi-Engine, and CPL instructional privileges

  • Examiner privileges (Single-pilot or Multi-pilot)

  • CS-25 multi-pilot operational experience

  • Familiarity with a Part-ORA management system

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365

Key Duties:

  • Deputise for the Head of Training and support the development and implementation of training policies

  • Oversee departmental targets, staff resourcing, and performance monitoring

  • Ensure instructor recruitment, standardisation, and compliance with regulatory standards

  • Contribute to the Management of Change process, risk assessments, and safety promotion

  • Represent the ATO at industry events and assist in commercial activities

  • Occasionally deliver flight instruction or examiner duties

Salary range: GBP 75,000 to 80,000 depending on experience.
