Simulator Training Center IFTC to Expand Training Infrastructure with HAVELSAN Airbus A320 Full Flight Simulator

Flight simulator manufacturer HAVELSAN, headquartered in Ankara, Türkiye, is proud to announce its support for Turkish pilot training organization and full flight simulator training center International Flight Training Center (IFTC), a member company of Gözen Holding, through a contract award by IFTC to HAVELSAN for an Airbus A320 NEO/CEO Full Flight Simulator (FFS) with three engine options.

IFTC, a member of Gözen Holding, is Türkiye’s first independent simulator training center. It has provided its customers an excellent training environment with two training centers on different continents (one in Istanbul and one in Antalya). Both centers, operate five FFS covering Airbus A320 and Boeing B737NG aircraft types. IFTC is internationally recognized for its support to a wide range of airlines and ATOs, fulfilling their pilot training requirements with precision and excellence.

In response to the strong domestic and international demand for full flight simulator capacity and training services, IFTC is investing in growing its training infrastructure across its training centers. HAVELSAN is passionate about supporting IFTC in expanding its pilot training infrastructure and enhancing Türkiye’s status as a leading global pilot training hub by providing additional training equipment to ensure the highest quality and efficient training capacity.

The HAVELSAN device is being installed at the beginning of the summer season in 2024 and will be the first Turkish-manufactured FFS in IFTC, marking a significant milestone for Türkiye, IFTC, and HAVELSAN.

Flight Simulator Manufacturer MPS Hands Over Boeing 737 MAX FTD to Canada’s Flair Airlines

MPS, a leading airline flight simulator company, recently completed the installation of a cutting-edge Boeing 737 MAX flight training device (FTD) at Flair Airlines, Canada’s leading ultra-low fare airline. India’s flag carrier Air India which is planning to grow its fleet by 3x and which according to its CEO Campell Wilson will on average, induct one aircraft joining the fleet every six days throughout 2024, has announced that it is now accepting applications for the second batch of intake for its “Fly High Pilot Cadet Program”.

The dedicated abinitio cadet pilot program launched in February 2024 will see training begin at the Air India Training Academy in Gurgaon, India (Ground School) before flight training at one of its training locations/training partners before completing the type rating in the Air India Aviation Academy simulator training center.

Air India has partnered with two international flight training organisations:

Air India has partnered with a financial institution for cadets to avail financing for training. However, cadets are free to choose any other financial partner as per their convenience.

Eligibility for Cadet Pilot Program

  • Must be a citizen of India
  • Shall demonstrate good command of written and spoken English
  • A minimum height requirement of 158 cm
  • Age eligibility: 18 to 30 years
  • Candidates should be in good physical and mental health
  • Must have the following educational qualification
    • High School Education Certificate (National Institute of Open Schooling is also accepted) with 60% in 10+2 including 60% marks in each of the following subjects English, Mathematics & Physics
  • Candidates will be required to clear a medical test (DGCA Class 1 Medical) prior to starting flight training.

The whole program will take “approximately 24 months (inclusive of the type rating)”.

This state-of-the-art simulator, relocated from Bahrain, has been installed at the new Pan Am Flight Academy training center located at the Axis Park complex in Hialeah, FL.

Equipped with Airbus Standard 2.4 specifications, the simulator features engine models including the Rolls Royce Trent, General Electric’s GE CF6-80, and Pratt & Whitney PW 4000. The A330 sim is integrated with the CAE Tropos visuals system and Moog Electric Motion. Additionally, both Thales and Honeywell FMGEC, TCAS 7.1, and EGPWS are included, as well as upset recovery (UPRT Dir 2). Training on this cutting-edge simulator is slated to commence in late summer 2024.
