Select Aviation College Hosts Porter Airlines for Destination Porter 2025 Mentorship Event
Canada – Select Aviation College recently hosted an exclusive event in partnership with Porter Airlines, highlighting the Destination Porter mentoring program—a strategic career pathway designed for student pilots enrolled in the college’s Integrated Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) program.
- Destination Porter connects student pilots with experienced Porter Airlines pilots, offering mentorship, career guidance, and preparation for key stages in their aviation journey.
- Eligible student pilots can apply for a First Officer position with Porter after logging 500 to 750 flight hours. Successful candidates receive a conditional job offer, contingent upon passing the Transport Canada IATRA/ATPL exams.
- Representatives from Porter Airlines’ recruitment team—Rima Rebello, Ola Sawyerr, and Yvonne Tsang—participated in the event, providing students with industry insights and networking opportunities.
- Five Select Aviation College students—Jin Qian, Jean-François Binette, Raymond Kisyanga, Thomas Jaramillo, and Diego Rodriguez—have been selected for the Destination Porter program for 2024.
- Applications for the 2025 intake are open until April 30, 2025, with final selections to be confirmed in early June 2025. Eligible students must maintain a minimum 80% average and complete their training within the prescribed timeline.
Statement:
“The Destination Porter program offers our student pilots a direct pathway to a rewarding career in commercial aviation. This partnership reflects our commitment to providing high-quality training and tangible opportunities for our students,” said a spokesperson from Select Aviation College.
