Padpilot Highlights 2025 Expansion in ATPL, CBTA, and ATO Partner Network

Global – Padpilot, a leading innovator in aviation theory training, has shared a summary of its 2025 milestones, highlighting continued growth in ATO adoption, student usage, and competency-based training product development.

  • Padpilot reported working with 180 approved training organisation (ATO) partners globally, reflecting sustained uptake of its digital ground training solutions across integrated and modular pilot training programmes.

  • The platform reached 11,000 active subscribers in 2025, including both students and instructors using Padpilot resources to support ground training delivery and standardisation.

  • In January 2025, Padpilot supported its charity partner Wings for Warriors with the launch of the Veterans’ Flying School, helping wounded military veterans retrain for careers in aviation.

  • In April, Padpilot launched its Area 100 KSA course, enabling ATOs to integrate competency-based training and assessment (CBTA) principles directly into their learning management systems in line with evolving EASA requirements.

  • In August, the company introduced an advanced CBT version of its ATPL(A) courseware, offering structured, trackable desktop-based study while retaining the same interactive content used across its mobile platform.

  • Padpilot also reported growth in its Padpilot Briefing Room (PBR) smart assistant, with 500+ active users, supporting students and instructors with ATPL theory explanations and teaching resources.

Asian Airline Expands A350-1000 Fleet with New Airbus Order in December 2025

Taiwan – China Airlines, a full-service airline operating extensive international passenger and cargo services, has confirmed a firm order for five additional Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. This latest order brings the airline’s total A350-1000 commitments to 15 units, further strengthening its long-haul fleet strategy and enhancing intercontinental capabilities.

  • China Airlines will operate 15 A350-1000s alongside its current fleet of 15 A350-900s, signalling a consistent long-haul fleet modernisation plan centered around the Airbus A350 platform.

  • Airbus confirmed the growing market demand for the A350 family, which has secured nearly 1,500 orders from 66 customers worldwide as of November 2025.

Riyadh Air Contracts MPS for A321 Flight Training Device

Saudi Arabia – MPS has been awarded a contract by Riyadh Air for an A321neo FTD-2. The simulator will be delivered to Riyadh Air to prepare its pilots for the arrival of the A321neo aircraft arriving in Q4 2026. The MPS A321neo FTD-2 will comply with Airbus Standard 3.0.

Riyadh Air is the new national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia with its main hub at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. Their fleet will consist of both Airbus and Boeing aircraft, including 60 Airbus A321neo.
