Brazilian Pilot Training Organization, EPA Training Center, Shares 2023 Milestones
EPA Training Center, a 2,700 square meter pilot simulator training facility based in Curitiba, Brazil, leads pilot training in the Latin America region with now four operational full-flight simulators, including:
- Embraer EMB-110 Bandeirante
- Embraer EMB-120 Brasilia
- Embraer ERJ-145/Legacy 600
- ATR 42/72-200/300/500.
EPA Training Center receives pilots from more than 30 countries, from executive operators, airlines, and armed forces. In 2023 it achieved a number of milestones including:
- The satisfaction level of customers stands impressively high at 99.5%, as reflected in the Net Promoter Score (NPS)
- Simulators maintain an average availability of 98.25%, with a substantial 24.8% increase in their utilization.
- The clientele hails from 19 different nationalities.
- A total of 1,400 language proficiency exams were conducted, with a focus on English proficiency.
- 70% transition to paperless processes
Additionally, the center proudly maintains ISO 9001:2015 and Carbon Free certifications, along with Strategic Defense Company accreditation by the Brazilian Ministry of Defense, ensuring the highest standards in operations.

Canadian Flight School, International Pilot Academy, is Seeking Chief Flight Instructor
The International Pilot Academy is a leading flight training school located in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. The academy is affiliated with Cégep Heritage College to provide fully accredited education to prospective pilots and is currently seeking a Chief Flight Instructor.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Chief Flight Instructor located in Ottawa, ON. The Chief Flight Instructor will be responsible for overseeing the quality of flight training provided by the academy, including instrument rating, commercial piloting, flight safety, and piloting. The Chief Flight Instructor will ensure the safe and efficient operation of our flight training school.
Qualifications
- Experience in instrument rating, aviation, commercial piloting, flight safety, and piloting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team of flight instructors
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively convey complex aviation concepts to students
- A valid Canadian commercial pilot’s license with a minimum of 3,000 hours of flight experience
- An air traffic controller license is a plus
- A Bachelor’s degree in Aviation or related field is preferred

Ten (10) new trainees were inducted to AAG International Center for Aviation Training-Maintenance Training Center’s (AICAT-MTC’s) Aeronautical Engineering Internship Program (AEIP) on 5 February 2024, marking a significant milestone as the program has now trained a total of 50 individuals since its inception in 2022. Notably, the trainees joining this intake are PATTS College of Aeronautics aeronautical engineering students.
Capt. Gaudencio Maniano (AICAT Accountable Manager) extended a warm welcome to the new trainees, assuring them of AICAT-MTC’s unwavering support in their training by providing hands-on experience and exposure to best practices and standards in the aviation industry.
Also in attendance was Capt. Vicente Casibang II (AAG Philippines Accountable Manager) who thanked the trainees for joining the program. “We are here to guide you throughout your aviation journey. Your continuous pursuit of learning and development will not only help you become better equipped to excel in your career but also to foster your personal growth,” Capt. Casibang II shares.
Renz Jayson Dilag (AICAT-AMO Aircraft Maintenance Manager) and Kevin Dy Tria (AICAT-MTC Head of Training) underscored AICAT-MTC’s integrated training philosophy, designed to provide students with an immersive experience, allowing them to explore diverse topics and acquire invaluable knowledge and skills in aeronautical engineering.
