Portuguese Airline Invites Student Pilots of Omni Aviation Training Center to Take Part in the First Ever “Embracing Training – Future Pilots” Initiative
Omni Aviation Training Center (OATC) shared that during the holiday season, its student pilots were invited by TAP Air Portugal to take part in the first-ever “Embracing Training – Future Pilots” initiative.
This new programme aims at introducing Cadets to the airline’s operational and business realities, thus complementing their training as future Airline Pilots.
Throughout the day, participants got to know in detail several of the company’s departments, highlighting: Integrated Operations Center (IOC); TAP Maintenance & Engineering with tours inside an Airbus A321 and A330neo; and Flight Training Center with tours inside the full flight simulators and cabin mock-ups.
A stand-out moment that left OATC with immense pride was a presentation titled “The life of a TAP pilot” by a couple of OATC’s Graduated Students, Sílvia Lopes and Vítor Pelado, who are now A320 and A330 First Officers, respectively. Vítor was also a Flight Instructor at OATC before joining the airline.
“We thank and congratulate TAP Air Portugal for this initiative. Back in July, OATC cadets had a similar opportunity when we organized the first ever extracurricular activity with the airline. We can’t wait for the next one,” said OATC.
