Icelandic Low-Cost Airline PLAY Airlines is hiring 55 pilots including 150 flight attendants as it prepares for next year’s summer demand. Said hiring marks the largest hiring yet for PLAY.
According to PLAY, there are are currently 70 pilots working for the airline and the airline is looking to grow to operating 10 aircraft by next summer.

US Airlines Continue to Pull Service to Cities Citing Pilot Shortage
American Airlines will pull its service from Dubuque, Iowa beginning September after 35 years – citing pilot shortage. Services in other three cities will also be cut including Toledo, Ohio; Ithaca, New York; and Islip, New York.
In a report from NBC News, aside from American Airlines, other major airlines like United Airlines cut service to 20 cities while Delta dropped three cities.
