US Media Outlet Inside Edition shared the below coverage on the state of airline hiring in the United States.
“Airlines are on a hiring binge for pilots to combat the chaos at U.S. airports. Due to the pandemic, numerous pilots retired and no new pilots were trained. Now, some airlines are tripling the average salary of a pilot to boost applications. At Piedmont Airlines, they’re churning out 40 new pilots every month. These pilots-in-training already logged 1,500 hours of flight time. However, they must go through five weeks of classroom instruction and 40 hours in a simulator.”

Middle East Airline Received Massive 20,000 Applications for 900 Pilot Positions Says CEO
Qatar Airways Group CEO HE Akbar al-Baker told reporters on the sidelines of the 78th IATA AGM and World Air transport Summit in Doha in June 19 that the airline received a massive 20,000 applications since when hiring commenced for 900 pilot positions. Al-Baker emphasized that the airline is overwhelmed with the applications it has received and continues to receive.
AFM Team Note – Qatar Airways has recently restarting accepting applications for its Ab-initio Cadet Program, accepting applications from all nationalities.
