Massey University Hosts Representatives from the Country’s Flag Carrier, Air New Zealand
Massey University School of Aviation recently hosted representatives from Air New Zealand, Captain Scott Hickey, Deputy Fleet Manager for Turbo Prop, and Captain Matt Longhurst Deputy Fleet Manager for B777/787. They toured the facilities with Chief Flight Instructor Paul Kearney and met with senior staff and the students. The two referenced how the significant shortage of pilots is having an impact on the global aviation industry – Air NZ included. Therefore, the contribution of professional flight training organisations, such as the Air NZ Preferred Flight Training Organizations (PFTOs), in producing tomorrow’s pilots, remains critical.
