Indian Airline looking to hire 350 Pilots and Cabin Crew in the next 12 months

New Start-Up Indian Airline Akasa Air has announced that it is looking to hire 350 Pilots and Cabin Crew in the next 12 months as it receives the first 18 aircraft of the 72 Boeing 737MAX it ordered in 2021. The entrance of the airline will result in large airline pilot movement in India as Akasa Air is offering 80% higher salaries to pilots than SpiceJet is offering at this time (although still 10% lower than Airbus A320 operator and market leader IndiGo).

US Airline announced enhancements to its Pilot Training and Pathway Program

The CEO of US Airline United has announced that they have enhanced their Aviate Program.

“Thanks to a streamlined process through four United Express partners, Aviate is one of the fastest ways to become a United Airlines pilot.

The safety, skills and professionalism needed to be a successful United pilot remain our highest areas of focus and in my opinion we continue to have the highest standards in the industry – now we’re simplifying the processes for the right candidates.

After learning to fly – whether at United Aviate Academy or elsewhere – and successfully building additional flight hours and experience, United Express partners are an excellent place to build a career as a commercial airline pilot. And as of today, qualifying pilots at our participating regional carriers can join Aviate without additional applications or interview processes. By simply opting in to the Aviate program, eligible UAX pilots receive a Conditional Job Offer and will ultimately flow to United after transition requirements and service minimums of 24 months and 2,000 flight hours are met.

Once at United, First Officers will work their way up one of the most lucrative careers in aviation, flying across the largest global network with the most widebody aircraft in North America. There’s no question in my mind that United is the carrier of choice for those who want to pursue this career and Aviate is the most direct way to do so.”
