American Airlines facing pilot training hurdles due to simulator sessions
American Airlines manifested its plan to conduct pilot simulator training during midnights as it onboards newly-hired pilots. However, the plan was opposed by the Allied Pilots Association (APA) as such constitutes a breach of contract. These simulator stints, referred to as E sessions, will be held at AA’s simulator training facilities in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Fort Worth, Texas.
The airline aims to train 440 pilots by the end of this year!

Middle Georgia State University graduates new class of pilots in Delta Pathway Program
Middle Georgia State University’s School of Aviation graduated its new class of pilots as part of a partnership between Delta Airlines and MGSU to bring Delta Propel Pilot Career Pathway Program to the university.
“One reason I’m excited to be here today is that we actually launched that program right here at Middle Georgia a couple of years ago,” said Captain Patrick Burns, Delta Air Lines’ Chief Pilot and Vice-President of Flight Operations.
Middle Georgia State University is one of only thirteen universities in the nation that have been selected to participate in a program that will put new pilots into sought-after jobs in the cockpits of Delta Air Lines jets. Delta’s Propel Collegiate Pilot Career Path offers a defined, accelerated and customized path from MGA to a Delta Air Lines Flight Deck. Students who successfully apply, complete initial testing and interview will receive a Qualified Job Offer (QJO) with Delta Air Lines, Inc.
