Indian Flight Training Group Chimes Aviation Academy Welcomes ICP Batch 09 with Over 30 Cadets in November 2025

India – Chimes Aviation Academy (CAA), which operates multiple flight training bases in India, marked the induction of its Indigo Cadet Pilot (ICP) Program Batch 09. Welcoming 38 new cadets as part of its integrated commercial pilot training program. The event included an introductory session focused on shaping future aviators with professionalism and personal discipline. The induction programme featured a session led by Group HR Head Shilpika Raheja, emphasizing the importance of personality development and etiquette in aviation careers.

The CAA IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program was launched in 2019 and has since produced hundreds of cockpit-ready pilots through a blend of rigorous training, disciplined mentorship, and operational alignment with airline standards.

Air India Training Academy Highlights 2025 Investments Into Pilot Training Infrastructure

India – Air India Training Academy has highlighted the strategic vision behind its newly launched Airbus Simulator Training Facility in Gurugram, with CEO & MD Campbell Wilson outlining the airline’s long-term commitment to strengthening India’s pilot-training and maintenance-training ecosystem. The 12,000 sq. meter simulator centre represents a major expansion of Air India’s in-house training capability as the airline continues its fleet renewal and workforce development plans.

  • The new facility is part of a USD130 million investment plan with this new facility being able to house and operate 10 Full Flight Simulators (FFS) for the Airbus A320 and A350 (learn more about the facility through AFM’s previous reporting here). The facility is currently equipped with two Full Flight Simulators for Airbus A320 family aircraft. The remaining six A320 simulators and two A350 simulators will be installed progressively.

  • Air India expects the centre to train 5,000 pilots over the next decade, supporting the carrier’s rapidly expanding narrow-body and wide-body fleets.

  • The launch complements Air India’s broader training ecosystem, including its Base Maintenance Training Organisation (BMTO) in Bengaluru and its Flying Training Organisation (FTO) with 34 aircraft in Amravati, aimed at developing both pilots and engineers for the national aviation sector.
