Turkish Airlines Appoints in 2024 Captain Fatih Altunok as Manager of HF and Training Methodologies

Earlier this year:
- Turkish Airlines announced it will expand its fleet with an order for 220 Airbus aircraft, made up of 150 Airbus A321s and 70 A350 widebody aircraft (50 A350-900s, 15 A350-1000s and 5 A350F freighters). This follows two orders from the airline for 10 A350-900s in September 2023 and four A350-900s in July 2023. This latest order will take Turkish Airlines’ total orderbook for Airbus aircraft to 504, of which 212 are already delivered.
- Flight simulator manufacturer HAVELSAN announced that another HAVELSAN constructed full flight simulator (FFS), an Airbus A320 operated by Turkish Airlines, has achieved European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Level D certification. This is one of three HAVELSAN Airbus A320 FFS that Turkish Airlines will operate as part of a contract for the procurement of a total of eleven A320 CEO NEOs and Boeing 737 Max FFS and FTD’s.
- In February 2024 Turkish Airlines secured the Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) approval for the implementation of the Mixed Evidence-Based Training (EBT). “I’m happy and proud to announce that we got the Turkish DGCA approval for the Mixed EBT implementation,” said “Turkish Airlines has embarked on a journey towards implementing Evidence-Based Training (EBT) to not only meet but exceed the expectations of safety and excellence in modern aviation.
