European Pilot Training Group Highlights Strategic Pilot Recruitment and Training Partnership with Executive Charter Operator

Portugal – OMNI Executive Aviation has reinforced its strategic partnership with OMNI Aviation Training Center (OATC) to handle all non type-rated pilot recruitment and training.

  • The partnership supports OMNI Executive Aviation’s growing demand for pilots across its expanding fleet of Learjet 40 and 45 aircraft.

  • OATC has recently enhanced its training capabilities by adding Diamond DA40 and DA42 aircraft, through a partnership with Airways Aviation.

Czech Republic – based flight training group F AIR has announced the arrival of eight new cadets from Vietjet Aviation Academy, continuing their Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) training programme in Europe. The cadets are now commencing the Core Phase and Basic Phase of the programme at F AIR’s training facilities – marking the first batch of MPL cadets for Vietjet Aviation Academy.

The partnership agreement was signed in January 2025 during a high-profile ceremony attended by Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Czech counterpart, Prime Minister Petr Fiala.

Greece’s Egnatia Aviation Hosts Flag Carrier Training Executives in April 2025

Greece – Egnatia Aviation, one of the country’s largest aviation training organisations, reinforced its long-standing partnership with Aegean Airlines through a recent visit by senior training executives from the airline, highlighting continued alignment in cadet training and pilot development.

Senior training personnel from Aegean Airlines visited Egnatia Aviation, reaffirming their partnership. The delegation included:

  • Captain Viktor Tolias – Aegean Cadet Scheme Training Supervisor

In March 2025 Egnatia Aviation enrolled Batch 092A under the Aegean Airlines Cadet Scheme. The new cohort consisted of 26 aspiring pilots enrolled in the Airline Integrated Programme, marking the sixth group trained under the airline’s long-term partnership with the academy.

The Aegean Airlines Cadet Scheme with Egnatia Aviation has been ongoing since 2018, highlighting a continued collaboration aimed at developing airline-ready pilots.

The program is a full-time course with a duration of 17 to 19 months and significantly facilitates the access of new talents to a demanding and high-cost career path, since the total cost of the tuition for a future pilot, including the type rating, exceeds 90,000 euros. AEGEAN’s total investment in the specific initiative exceeds 7 million euros, while a similar initiative has been launched for Aviation Engineers.

Global Pilot Training Group Skyborne and IndiGo Celebrate Largest Ever Intake

India & USA – Skyborne, a global pilot training group which operates flight training bases in the United Kingdom and the United States, has welcomed 40 new cadets to the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program, after a Letter of Intent (LoI) ceremony in Gurgaon, India.

Following a competitive application process, the successful cadets will commence the first phase of their flight training at the academy’s base in Florida, United States, before returning to India for their flight license conversion and type rating. After successfully completing the program, the graduates will go on to fly with India’s leading airline as A320 First Officers.

Rina Basu, Regional Director (Asia Pacific), Skyborne, says: “Since Skyborne’s partnership with IndiGo began in 2019, we’ve supported India’s aviation industry in meeting workforce demand and tackling pilot shortages. Skyborne’s 2025 intake includes two former cabin crew for IndiGo and a strong female contingent, with 21% women cadets, well above the global average of 6%*.
