Regional Aircraft Manufacturer ATR Reports Strong 2024 Results with 40% Growth in Aircraft Orders
Toulouse, France – ATR, the world’s leading regional aircraft manufacturer, reported its full-year results for 2024, highlighting significant growth in aircraft orders and a strong demand for its turboprops.
- ATR secured 56 aircraft orders in 2024, a 40% increase from 2023, with 51 ATR 72 and 5 ATR 42 aircraft ordered.
- The company’s backlog now exceeds 150 aircraft, with strong demand from Asian and Canadian operators.
- Deliveries remained stable at 35 aircraft, with one additional unit ready for delivery.
- Revenue reached $1.2 billion, maintaining a book-to-bill ratio above 1.

This continues to give ATR solid foundations for the future, and shows that the regional market is eager to buy highly-efficient aircraft with the right economics, the right capacity, and the right performance.”

Boeing Achieves Highest Monthly Deliveries Since December 2023
Seattle, USA – Boeing delivered 45 aircraft in January 2025, surpassing Airbus, which handed over 25 planes to 17 customers during the same period. This marks Boeing’s highest monthly delivery since December 2023 and the first time it has outpaced Airbus since March 2023.
- The 45 deliveries included 40 737 MAX jets, with major customers such as United Airlines (seven), Southwest Airlines (five), and Air Lease Corporation (three).
- Additional deliveries included four 787 Dreamliners and one 777 Freighter.
- Ten of the 737 MAX aircraft had been in long-term storage awaiting rework before delivery.
- Boeing also secured 36 new orders in January 2025, consisting of 34 737 MAXs and two 777 Freighters from undisclosed customers.
- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has capped 737 MAX production at 38 units per month following the Alaska Airlines incident in January 2024. Boeing does not expect to reach that level until later in 2025.
- Boeing’s production faced disruptions due to a seven-week strike in September 2024 and an additional month of safety checks before resuming full operations.

The company is renowned for its reliable and safe aviation solutions across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

Australia – Leading Australian flight training academy, Sydney Flight College (SFC), has further solidified itself as Australia’s premier flight training academy, having recently received a Regulation 30 of the Civil Aviation Regulation (CAR 30) Certificate of Approval, while also expanding its Pilot Academy Tamworth student number threefold with its latest cohort numbering 35.
With benefits for both students and the local community, the CAR 30 approval allows the academy to conduct all maintenance across its fleet of 22 aircraft, reducing friction and delays to training schedules caused by reliance on third-party contractors, while simultaneously expanding local career opportunities for both new apprenticeships and qualified aircraft maintenance engineers alike.
SFC’s new maintenance approval coincides with the Academy’s largest cohort to date, with the 35 new students having relocated to Tamworth from Sydney, regional New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, and South Australia.
Complementing the new intake are an additional five new flight instructors, who have just completed our first ever Tamworth based, Flight Instructor Rating Scholarship including two of whom are female, while all have originally graduated from SFC’s Sydney-based Double Diploma course.
The strengthening of the flying academy, with strong support from both the NSW Government and local council, will see the former Royal Australian Air Force training facility continue to return to the level of activity for which it was originally designed.
SFC Chief Executive Officer Joseph Pilo said: “SFC has long realised the incredible potential of the International Flight Training Tamworth facility, and our strategy for the Academy’s growth has always included the strengthening of both the local economy and creation of supporting roles within the industry and with opportunities ahead for new aircraft maintenance apprenticeships, we’re continuing to open new aviation careers beyond the cockpit. There’s still much more in store.”
SFC Head of Sales, Admissions and Marketing, Angela Toutounji, said: “The record size of this latest cohort is the clearest evidence yet that our student outreach programs, and industry-leading flight training are inspiring confidence that the dream of flying is within their reach.”
SFC’s Pilot Academy in Tamworth, situated at the city’s former Royal Australian Air Force training facility, delivers a uniquely comprehensive and advanced flight training course designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to become fully qualified commercial pilots in just 12 months.
Building on top of the standard Commercial Pilot Licence and Muti-Engine Instrument Rating modules of pilot training delivered at its Sydney base, SFC is also including the additional components of Multi-Crew Cooperation and Upset Prevention Recovery Training, with newly acquired aerobatic training aircraft and brand new simulators due for delivery in May 2025 to deliver this training.

France – headquartered ATR, the world’s leading regional aircraft manufacturer, announced its 2024 full-year results, with a growth trajectory driven by successful partnerships with existing and new customers.
Orders of 56 aircraft represent a 40% rise from 2023, with a mix of renewed commitments from existing operators and new customers, both airlines and lessors, exemplifying strong market demand for ATR aircraft. 51 ATR 72 and 5 ATR 42 aircraft were ordered, which brings the backlog to over 150. In 2024, Asian carriers showed significant engagement, while ATR saw new interest from Canadian operators. Additionally, the year witnessed the initial phase of the -600 series renewal.
Deliveries were in line with the level of 2023, with 35 aircraft delivered, plus one ready to deliver, meeting the guidance provided at the beginning of the year. Looking ahead, ATR expects 2025 to be another year of stabilisation, as tensions in the supply chain will remain at least during the first half of the year.
ATR delivered $1.2bn in revenues and confirmed a book-to-bill well above 1. The manufacturer also recorded almost 100 transactions on the second-hand market, demonstrating the robust demand for ATR’s cost-effective and low-emission turboprops.
Customer support and services rose by 15%, at $480m, building on a record level from 2023. This demonstrates the added benefits of ATR’s services offering, to increase cost predictability over time and offer access to mutualised resources.
