With a successful open day held on Saturday 10 June at Airways Aviation’s Gold Coast Academy, the event captured the hearts and minds of numerous enthusiastic high school students and their supportive parents.

“I was inspired and energised by the passion for the aviation industry displayed by the high school students and parents who I talked to at our recent open day. These young minds are the future of our industry, and it was a privilege to engage with them, answer their questions, and provide insights into the world of aviation. Their eagerness to learn and their determination to make a difference reaffirmed my belief that the future of aviation is in excellent hands. We are excited to continue fostering such opportunities for young talents and empower them to soar to new heights in their careers. I look forward to welcoming them to join us at Airways Aviation and helping to shape the next chapter of our success story,” said Janet Dalby, Airways Aviation CEO Australia, and Pacific.

A number of high school students were welcomed to the flight school’s hangar, filled with enthusiasm to discover the endless opportunities available in the aviation field. The interactive activities, captivating showcases, and immersive experiences left a lasting impact on them.

“I had a great time at the Info Morning! I got to experience the technology and learned new information about careers in aviation,” says one of the high school attendees after chatting extensively with instructor, Brooke, about her future career options.

Based at Gold Coast International Airport, the opportunity to tour Airways Aviation’s facility, chat to the flight school’s experienced instructors and get up close with the training aircraft, demonstrated to attendees what it is like to learn about aviation in a real-world environment.

Flight simulators allowed students to experience the thrill of piloting an aircraft firsthand, fostering a sense of adventure and curiosity. Guided tours provided valuable insights into the comprehensive training facilities, where students would learn the intricacies of aviation theory, navigation systems, and airport operations.

Moreover, Q&A sessions were particularly informative, as they addressed the burning questions of both students and parents. The open day succeeded in creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm, ensuring that attendees left with a clearer understanding of the aviation industry’s vast potential.

Airways Aviation Australia’s AVI30319 Certificate III in Aviation (Ground Operations and Service) course is poised to unlock a multitude of opportunities for passionate individuals. The course offers a comprehensive curriculum that covers various aspects of aviation, including ground operations, customer service, aircraft safety procedures, and dispatch systems.

The course adopts a hands-on approach, providing students with practical training in a real-world aviation facility. This immersive experience allows aspiring aviators to develop essential skills and gain the necessary knowledge to pursue a successful career in the industry. From understanding aircraft maintenance and inspection procedures to mastering the art of radio procedures, students will acquire a strong foundation in aviation operations.

Completion of this course offers a unique opportunity for individuals to pursue their dreams of working in aviation. Whether an aspiring pilot, valued ground crew member or an aviation enthusiast, students will embark on a path that will equip them with the skills and knowledge required to soar high in this exhilarating industry.
