Air Hawke’s Bay Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hawke’s Bay & East Coast Aero Club and operates a fixed wing flight training academy from its base at the Hastings Aerodrome, is seeking a new Chief Executive (CE) to lead the company within a vibrant industry. “As the CE you will have accountability for the overall strategic direction and performance of the company including managing the optimum level of resources to achieve the strategic goals of the company. You will need the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, while helping to enhance financial and service delivery performance. With a practical hands-on style, you will have excellent leadership, people management, organisational, systems development and financial skills.
The ideal person for the CE role will have:
- Proven experience in a Senior Executive or General Manager role
- Excellent communication and networking skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders including Government Agencies
- Proven team leadership skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven business acumen and the ability to set and manage budgets and costs effectively
- Tertiary qualified and/or Professional Qualification in a relevant discipline
- Understanding of the Aviation industry and/or Tertiary Education Sector is preferred
- Essential to secure this position the successful applicant needs to meet the qualifications and experience of a senior person under Civil Aviation Authority criteria”

Australian Flight School, Learn To Fly Melbourne, Expands Operations
Learn To Fly Melbourne from Melbourne, Australia, the city’s premier aviation school, is delighted to announce a significant expansion to its operations. Having recently signed a 10-year lease with Moorabbin Airport, the school will now benefit from a state-of-the-art office building designed to enhance the training experience of its students.
The facility, boasting over 1,000 square feet of space, is set to accommodate more than 200 aviation enthusiasts and future pilots, effectively increasing the school’s capacity to deliver its industry-leading flight training programs.
“We are incredibly excited about this expansion,” said the CEO, Kai Li. “With the addition of the new building, we can provide an even better learning environment for our students. Our goal has always been to offer the highest quality flight training, and this facility will undoubtedly help us achieve that.”
The new location complements Learn To Fly Melbourne’s existing infrastructure, which includes a separate maintenance facility, simulation building and administrative office. The school’s four-building setup now forms one of the most comprehensive flight training establishments in the region.
