Pilot Flight Academy, a flight school based in Sandefjord, Norway, shared that after assessments held at their own academy, nine more of their graduates just got hired by Sweden’s flag carrier Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) in June 2024.
In March 2024 Pilot Flight Academy launched has announced the establishment of in-house airline offices.

Czech Republic-based Flight Training Group F Air Announces Airline Partnership with Luxembourg’s Flag Carrier

French Pilot Training Organisation Mermoz Academy Announces Airline Partnership for Sponsored Cadet Pilot Program
Nimes, France based aviation and pilot training organisation Mermoz Academy has announced its collaboration with Luxair, flag carrier of Luxembourg and operator of 21 commercial aircraft. Through this program, Luxair pre-finances the entire training of student pilots selected at Mermoz Academy, offering job security from the beginning of their career. Future pilots will reimburse part of their training through a deduction from their salary, thus making the profession of pilot accessible to a greater number.
Back in April 2024 Mermoz Academy completed the acquisition of 10 Tecnam P-Mentors for its fleet expansion programme. The aircraft will be used for both PPL (Private Pilot Licence) and MPL (Multi Pilot Licence) courses. The flight training academy, which has been operating in France since 2018, currently has 220 students and a fleet of ten (10) P-Mentor, five (5) P2006T twin-engine and four (4) P2010 single-engine four-seaters.

MERMOZ ACADEMY is a reference ATO in Europe since 1957, which operates a modern fleet of airplanes and the biggest Tecnam fleets in Europe. The academy trains 150 students a year on different bases South of France, (Nimes), near Paris (Tours), in the USA and Canada. Global flight training group Airways Aviation, which operates pilot training academies across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and India has announced that launch of its newest flight training facility – set to open in Larnaca, Cyprus in September 2024.
- Cyprus is renowned for its stable flying weather, ensuring minimal seasonal interruptions for training.
- This facility marks Airways Aviation’s 5th flying base and 12th ground location globally, strategically positioned between the Middle East and Europe.
- The new facility will offer Airline Pathway Programs leading to EASA, CASA, ATPL, and CPL (ME-IR) certifications.
- Aspiring pilots can start with a Private Pilot License (PPL) program, followed by Structured Hour Building, and then complete their EASA ATPL or CASA CPL training in France, Italy, or Australia.
- The Cyprus facility will also offer a bespoke Aviation Foundation Course to prepare students for advanced pilot training phases.
