UK Flight Training Group Leading Edge Aviation Seeking Head of Training in 2024

Oxford, United Kingdom headquartered Leading Edge Aviation, a prominent UK-based pilot training academy, is seeking a qualified aviation professional to join its team as Head of Training. Please see an extract of the job post below.

The Company Head of Training (HT) is a mandatory post-holder position at Leading Edge Aviation, responsible to the applicable National Approvals Authority (NAA) for ensuring the delivery of all professional pilot training across all locations is conducted safely and in accordance with the regulations. Leading Edge Aviation’s HT is ultimately responsible for maintaining the exacting high standards of training and safety standards, and in line with the applicable NAA regulations.

In addition the HT is a key member of the Leadership Team and integral to ensuring effective management across the Company, not just within the training area, providing leadership and direction whilst fully supporting the Senior Leadership Team.

Core Competencies

  • To be the approved post holder with the NAA (s)
  • To maintain their license, ratings and medical in line with the Company requirements and the applicable Aviation Authority regulations;
  • Hold or have held in the 3 years prior to first appointment as HT, a professional pilot licence and associated ratings or certificates issued in accordance with Part-FCL, related to the flight training courses provided.
  • Extensive experience as an instructor in the areas relevant for the training provided by the ATO
  • Sound managerial capability
  • Extensive experience in training as an instructor for professional pilot licences and associated ratings or certificates
  • To have a high personal and professional standard;
  • To be able to work independently and on their own initiative when appropriate;
  • To have good report writing and IT skills.
