Flight Training Group Leading Edge Aviation Celebrates 98 Graduate Successes with European Airline

United Kingdom – headquartered flight training group Leading Edge Aviation, which operates flight training bases in the UK and Spain, has announced that 98 of its graduates have successfully passed assessments to join British Airways, with the latest group beginning their airline careers at the start of September.

The flight training group announced just earlier this month that its graduates are high in demand by airlines such as easyJet , with 65 students securing positions at the airline in the past 12 months. Of these, 54 cadets were tagged by easyJet before completing their training, demonstrating the strength of the pathway from training to airline employment. In total, 129 Leading Edge graduates are now employed with easyJet, reinforcing the academy’s role as a key talent pipeline for the carrier.

Global ACMI Leader Deploys First Cadets to Flight Training Phase of Partially Sponsored MPL Program in September 2025

Lithuania – Avia Solutions Group, the world’s largest ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) provider, has shared through its Pilot Runway program that the first cadets have completed theory training and are transitioning to the group’s flight school in Spain.

The groups’ “Pilot Runway” program has the ambition to train and deploy 200 new pilots annually to support its expanding global ACMI operations.

  • Launched in April 2024 via subsidiary BAA Training, the “Pilot Runway” Multi-Crew Pilot License (MPL) program is a partially sponsored ab initio pilot training initiative with a guaranteed job offer.
  • Cadets are guaranteed job placement with Avia Solutions Group airlines upon successful completion.

  • Initial airline placements are with Avion Express, followed by SmartLynx Airlines.

  • In January 2025, the program hosted a successful Open Door Day in Vilnius, attracting approximately 100 prospective pilots.

    • Phase 2: Theoretical ATPL courses in Bordeaux, France (36 weeks)

    • Phase 3: Time-building flights in South Africa (12 weeks)

    • Phase 4: Advanced flight training in Europe, including EASA CPL/IR ME/AUPRT (16 weeks)

    • Phase 5: Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) and Jet Orientation Course (JOC) on A320/B737 simulators in Europe (3 weeks)
