Training Aircraft Manufacturer and Pilot Training Solution Provider Grob Aircraft Showcased VR-Integrated Approach at MFT 2025

Italy – At the MFT 2025 conference, Grob Aircraft’s Chief Sales Officer Karl Fuernrohr (Charly) presented the company’s hybrid training vision that merges analog flying foundations with digital simulation tools. With a focus on preparing military pilots for increasingly complex missions, Grob highlighted how its training ecosystem bridges classroom instruction with operational realities.

  • “In an increasingly contested airspace, the ability to train realistically and effectively is mission-critical,” stated Karl Fuernrohr during his address.
  • Grob’s VR simulator solution enables a dynamic training environment that connects theoretical learning with real-time decision-making.
  • “Our VR Simulator bridges the gap between theoretical instruction and operational readiness, offering a dynamic platform for next-generation aviators,” he explained.
  • Fuernrohr drew on his personal background as an analog fighter pilot to stress the value of merging traditional skills with advanced tools.
  • “We developed an aircraft that stays true to its analog foundations while seamlessly integrating cutting-edge technology and a sophisticated ground training package,” he added.
  • Grob Aircraft presented alongside global aerospace and training leaders including Boeing, Airbus, BAE Systems, CAE, Pilatus, and others.

European Flight Training Group AELO Swiss Academy to Open New Headquarter in 2025

Switzerland – AELO Swiss Academy, powered by AeroLocarno based at Locarno Airport, has shared an update on the construction of its new headquarters. The upcoming AELO Swiss Academy headquarters will serve as the new central hub for AELO’s operations across Switzerland and Italy and open in the summer of 2025.

The building will include dedicated training facilities and flight simulators.

  • AELO has seen a strong increase in demand despite raising tuition fees and tightening admission criteria, reflecting a long-term approach focused on reputation and quality.
  • The academy fully integrates Evidence-Based Training (EBT) and KSA 100 methodologies, ensuring students develop competencies required in modern airline operations.
  • AELO states that unlike flight schools that maximize enrollment numbers without sufficient resources, AELO maintains sustainable student-to-instructor ratios to avoid training delays.
  • Two-thirds of AELO’s 37 flight instructors are active airline pilots from Swiss, Lufthansa, Air Dolomiti, Ryanair, DHL, and more, providing students with real-world airline exposure.

Belgium – Flight simulator manufacturer ALSIM is pleased to share that Air Academy New CAG, based in Belgium, has conducted over 15,000 flight hours on its ALSIM AL42 simulators which it has been using for over 10 years.

This reliability played a factor in Air Academy New CAG’s trust in ALSIM by ordering another two AL42 devices in February 2025.

The AL42 is an exact replica of the Diamond DA42, built using genuine aircraft parts and equipped with the authentic Garmin™ G1000® Nxi. It also comes with the latest generation image generator (VFR-VS), GFC™ 700 autopilot, and a force feedback system that ensures increased realism. It can also be equipped with either analog or glass (EFIS) backup instruments.

The AL42 model is designed for CPL IR/ME and PPL training in compliance with current regulatory standards of EASA FNPT II (level).
