Airbus Announces Agreement with China’s Leading Flight Training Provider to Develop CBTA Pilot Training Program

Zhuhai, China – Airbus and the Civil Aviation Flight University of China (CAFUC) have signed a cooperation agreement on developing the Competency Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) Air Transport Pilot integrated training programme and a Letter of Intent (LOI) on the support of subsequent programme implementation and commercial cooperation.

This cooperation is in response to new flight training requirements by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). It will combine Airbus’ international experience in CBTA development with CAFUC’s local training experience to jointly develop the first CBTA integrated pilot training programme that meets both ICAO standards and CAAC regulations.

The cooperation aims to promote CBTA in China’s ab-initio flight training sector. Compared to traditional flight training methods, CBTA can further enhance the fight training efficiency and quality as it places a greater emphasis on the pilots’ performances and competencies.

The course development will be completed within the next two years, followed by a trial at CAFUC supervised by CAAC before a wide application. The cooperation will pave the way for the introduction of CBTA training in China and contribute to improve civil aviation safety in China.

Iconic aircraft models, various types of launch vehicles, innovative low-altitude economy products, and advanced technologies were prominently featured, making it a premier global platform for exchange and collaboration in the aerospace sector.

Five Appearances at the Airshow Stage: U-Wing Simulation Showcases Its Excellence

U-Wing Simulation shares a profound connection with the China Airshow, having made its debut on the China Airshow stage in 2016. Since then, it has participated in five consecutive editions. With its strong R&D capabilities, U-Wing Simulation has developed flight simulation training devices that are sold worldwide. As the first Chinese company to independently develop and export flight training devices, U-Wing Simulation has continually achieved breakthroughs in both technology and market reach within the flight simulation training device sector, building a global brand image and an international marketing network.

Three Innovative Products Shine as Highlights of the Airshow

As an exhibitor, U-Wing Simulation showcased three flight simulation training devices at this year’s airshow:

1. eVTOL Flight Simulator with MR (Mixed Reality)

Making its debut at the airshow, the eVTOL flight simulator garnered significant attention, with professional attendees eager to try it out. Participants, wearing MR headsets, stepped into the simulator and were instantly immersed in a 360-degree panoramic eVTOL flight experience, offering incredibly realistic sensations of piloting. The device integrates the domestically developed Beijing ViSYS visual system, equipped with industry-leading MR headsets and a six-degrees-of-freedom motion platform, delivering a highly immersive and lifelike experience. The simulator is primarily designed for eVTOL manufacturers, serving purposes such as R&D testing, market promotion, and flight training. It provides eVTOL manufacturers with a comprehensive and competitive flight simulation training solution.

2. PA28 Flight Training Device Level 5

The device features a 1:1 replica of the PA28 cockpit, equipped with a self-developed G1000 avionics simulation system, along with authentic instruments, device panels, and control units. It accurately simulates various flight operations, delivering a realistic PA28 piloting experience. The simulator enables safe training for complex maneuvers such as stall recovery, steep turns, and low-speed flight. It complies with CCAR-60 Level 5, FAA Level 5, and EASA FNPT II certification requirements.

3. SR20 FPT (Flight Procedure Trainer)

The Cirrus SR20 FPT, designed for individual users, offers an exceptional personal flight training solution for SR20 trainees. It enables users to conduct procedural and instrument training for the SR20 aircraft from the comfort of their homes. This device helps both individuals and flight schools enhance training efficiency while reducing training costs effectively.
