UK regional airline Loganair has partnered with Skyborne Airline Academy to address the growing demand for pilots by offering early career opportunities for ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License) trainees. This new initiative will “tag” trainees from Skyborne’s Integrated ATPL program after completing their first six months of ground school, giving them priority access to Loganair’s recruitment pool before they even graduate.
- The partnership with Skyborne, based at Gloucestershire Airport, is the first of its kind for Loganair, allowing the airline to secure future talent early in their training.
- Trainees tagged by Loganair will receive mentorship throughout their studies at Skyborne’s UK and US campuses, and after graduation, they will undergo type rating training with Loganair to prepare for regional operations.
- Carla Booth, Skyborne’s Commercial Director (UK), highlighted the significance of this initiative, noting the career security it offers their students, “At Skyborne, our aspiring airline pilots are at the heart of everything we do and through our new partnership with Loganair, I’m proud we can offer a path to a rewarding career with a thriving airline.”
- Jordan Jennings, Loganair’s Flight Crew Recruiter, praised the quality of training provided by Skyborne and expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, saying “It’s become apparent from our first intake of Skyborne trainees that the quality of the training provided is incredibly high and therefore embarking on this partnership was an easy decision for Loganair. We are proud to be working as a partner for the Integrated ATPL tagging initiative which allows us to meet the growing demand for regional travel with highly skilled, qualified individuals as part of our crews. The successful graduates from Skyborne will join the Loganair family, flying to unique locations across the UK and Europe.”

Portugal – Tecnam and Air Dream College announced, during the Portugal Air Summit, the purchase agreement for one (1) Tecnam’s, P2006T NG twin engine for its fleet expansion program. More aircraft have been optioned to sustain Air Dream College growth.
The aircraft will be used for both PPL – Private Pilot License – up to the MCC/JOC – Multi Crew Cooperation Course/Jet Orientation Course, modules for ATPL courses.
In business since 2020, today Air Dream College operates 6 Tecnam aircraft, among single and twin-engine training two hundred Pilots (200) and one hundred and fifty Operations Officer (150).
The P2006T NG, Next Generation is the latest version of the P2006T, one of the smartest twin engine aircraft on the market today, offering unbeatable value and innovative design with a modern Garmin avionics suite, integrating all primary flight, navigation, communication and terrain data on two high-definition LCDs.
The aircraft is also equipped with two-axis autopilot, for the most efficient MEP complex training.
Fitted with two Rotax 912iSc3 injected engines, the Tecnam P2006T exhibits remarkable fuel savings and can be operated on AVGAS and MOGAS fuel, leading to huge cost savings, offering the best training for Multi Engine, Variable Pitch and Retractable Landing Gear ratings. The advanced avionic system offers VFR/ VFR Night, MEP, IR, PBN (LNAV, VNAV, LPV).
