Swedish University Acquires Two ALSIM Flight Simulators

France headquartered flight simulator manufacturer ALSIM is delighted to announce that Lund University School of Aviation (LUSA) in Sweden, has selected ALSIM for its training needs by purchasing an Airliner and an AL250 equipped with the Engineering Pack.

The AIRLINER is a hybrid simulator (Fly-by-wire and conventional control) manufactured by ALSIM to address large flight training programs for advanced training such as MCC, APS MCC, Crew Resource Management, Jet Aircraft Handling and Procedures. The versatile simulator is close to a variety of different single aisle aircraft, such as the B737MAX, A320, A220, E190-E2 or the SSJ100.

The AL250 simulator addresses initial phase training needs (PPL, CPL, IR/ME) and is SEP/MEP re–configurable simulator certified as an EASA FNPT II. In addition, it offers both classic and glass cockpit for each flight model at the simple flick of a switch. This device has been extremely well received since its creation and more than 100 of these have already been installed and are in successful operation worldwide.

The ALSIM Engineering Pack empowers engineering students to be completely independent to design and test aircraft models on the ALSIM AL250 simulator. Integrated within MATLAB® and Simulink®, it offers nearly 4,000 editable variables for endless possibilities.

Johan Bergström, Accountable Manager at Lund University School of Aviation, states: “We are looking forward to working together with the Alsim team for many years to come. Both the AL250 with its Engineering Pack and the Airliner with the possibility to change setup fit our needs perfectly in both training and research.

Audrey Jeffroy, ALSIM Sales Director, says: “We are extremely happy and proud to welcome Lund University School of Aviation among our customers and would like to thank them for their confidence in our innovative solutions. The AIRLINER is a game changer and will play a significant role in the flight training of the students at LUSA. We look forward to seeing the first students flying in the sims!

US School Launches Flight Aviation and Simulation Course in 2024 with Flight Training Provider

Gainesville, Florida – Oak Hall School is thrilled to announce the launch of its newest addition to the Distinguished Scholar Program and overall curriculum: the groundbreaking Flight Aviation and Simulation course. This exclusive program, offered in the state-of-the-art Oak Hall School Gleim Aviation Center, is designed to ignite the passion for aviation in aspiring pilots, providing them with an unparalleled learning experience.

In addition to in-class instruction, students will have the unique opportunity to attend a major aviation show in the Southeast, gaining valuable industry insight and inspiration. By the end of the course, students will be fully prepared to ace the FAA knowledge test and 45excel in actual flight lessons, setting them apart from their peers.

A Transformative Partnership with Gleim Aviation

This innovative program has been made possible by the generous philanthropic gift from Gleim Aviation, a company helmed by Dr. Irvin Gleim, a long-time supporter and former Oak Hall School board member. The Gleim family’s connection to Oak Hall runs deep, with their legacy of commitment to education and innovation. This new aviation center is a testament to that commitment, offering our students a unique platform to explore and develop their aviation skills.

Dr. Gleim, a distinguished Professor Emeritus from the University of Florida, has spent nearly 45 years transforming the landscape of pilot training through Gleim Aviation. His comprehensive study materials and online courses have guided countless pilots through the complexities of FAA knowledge and practical tests, setting new standards in aviation education.

Gleim Aviation CEO, Lorie Gleim said, “Partnering with Oak Hall School on this aviation program is a privilege and aligns perfectly with our mission to inspire and prepare the next generation of pilots.
