Tecnam and Professional Aviation Strengthen Their Long-Standing Partnership with the Introduction of Italy’s First P2006T NG
Italy – training aircraft manufacturer Tecnam Aircraft and flight training organisation Professional Aviation are proud to announce the delivery of the brand-new Tecnam P2006T NG, the first of its kind to be operated by a flight academy in Italy. This milestone marks a new chapter in the partnership between the two organizations and underlines their shared commitment to providing the most advanced, efficient, and sustainable flight training solutions available today.
The P2006T NG (Next Generation) represents the evolution of Tecnam’s renowned twin-engine trainer, long recognized as the aircraft of choice for leading flight schools worldwide. Equipped with the Garmin G1000 NXi integrated glass cockpit, improved ergonomics, and Rotax 912 iS Sport engines, the aircraft delivers exceptional fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and superior training capability.
The delivery ceremony, held at Tecnam’s Capua headquarters, also included two new Tecnam P2008JC aircraft, further expanding Professional Aviation’s growing fleet. These two new aircraft will enhance the Academy’s single-engine training capacity and ensure consistent fleet standardization across all training phases.
Professional Aviation Academy, an EASA (IT.ATO.034) and GCAA-approved international flight training organization based at Ozzano dell’Emilia (Bologna, Italy), operates one of the most modern and technologically advanced fleets in Europe. The Academy currently flies 22 Tecnam aircraft, with additional units on the way, supporting the training of more than 350 students from around the world.

The Operations function is also being strengthened with an expanded role for Kim Bennett, who takes on responsibility for both the operations teams and student support as Senior Operations Manager. Kim’s deep knowledge of the business and her student-first mindset make her ideally placed to lead both teams through the next stage of development.
Also new to the Aeros team is Tom Hay, who joins as Maintenance Base Manager. A keen aviator himself, Tom now leads Aeros’ aircraft maintenance facility and is responsible for the care and upkeep of the Aeros training fleet, as well as supporting a growing number of customer aircraft.

Last year AYJET Flight School has shared that it has been awarded Best Flight School 2024 by the Jury of the Bluesky Awards. More than 1,796 pilots have graduated since 2005 with over 1,687 of them were subsequently employed in airlines.

Latvia’s airBaltic Graduates Largest Cadet Cohort Yet at Pilot Academy
Latvia – The pilot‑cadet training arm of Latvia’s flag carrier airBaltic, airBaltic Pilot Acadedmy, has achieved a new landmark as its in‑house academy graduates its largest cohort to date. In October 2025, the airline’s training division witnessed 33 students complete its full‑time airline transport pilot licence (ATPL) programme, marking a significant milestone for the airBaltic Pilot Academy.
- The cohort includes individuals from Austria, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Romania and Sweden.

At present, the academy has 141 active students — while primarily Baltic‑based, cadets also hail from other EU countries including Denmark, Germany, France, Finland, Spain and Italy.

More than 10 % of the current student population are female.

Historically, 164 graduates have joined airBaltic as employees: most serving as First Officers, with several now working as training instructors. Four former graduates have been upgraded to Captain at the airline—making them the first academy‑alumni to reach that rank.
- To support its growth and training capacity, airBaltic has deployed a second Airbus A220 full‑flight simulator, significantly enhancing its training infrastructure and aligning with its expanding fleet.
