UK Flight School Chairman awarded a MBE for services to Aviation
UK Flight Training Group Aeros Global is pleased to formally announce the honour of MBE being awarded to Chairman Tom Dunn.
Tom, an avid pilot himself has spent the last 15 years building Aeros into the UK’s leading modular flight school consisting of five air bases at Coventry, Gloucester, Cardiff, Doncaster and Wellesbourne with a fleet of over 40 aircraft.
He is known for his past in building Nationwide (what we now know as Halfords) into one of the largest group of Autocentres across the UK consisting of over 230 branches. Tom then went on to create Aeros with an initial and continued focus of developing young people to pursue their dreams of becoming a pilot.
Grant Shapps MP, Secretary of State for Transport sent a personal message to Tom saying, ‘my many thanks for the work you are doing to make our country a better place.’
Nigel Orme, Director of Strategy and Partnerships for Aeros Groups says, ‘after knowing Tom for many years it is no surprise that this honour has been bestowed upon him as his dedication and commitment to aviation and helping anyone he can to follow their aspirations is well known to everyone in our industry.’
Tom Dunn MBE says, ‘I was surprised, elated and pleased with this honour. I now intend to use this opportunity to push for more equality in pilot training to help with disadvantaged students along with talking to our government to remove VAT from student pilot training.’
Aeros continue to lead the industry with a new initiative within their Education Division by partnering with Colleges and Universities to continue Tom’s vision of giving everyone the opportunity to pursue their aviation dreams.

Cebu Pacific becomes new operator of CAE Rise Training System
CAE announced today at the 2022 Singapore Airshow that Cebu Pacific Air (CEBU) is the first airline customer to sign up for its new integrated data service offering which for the first time, includes data from a Line Operation Safety Audit (LOSA). Through its exclusive service agreement with The LOSA Collaborative, CAE will assist with the implementation of CEBU’s LOSA program, including planning, data collection, and debriefing. For pilot training data, CEBU will leverage CAE Rise™, a data-driven and AI-powered training system to gather insights from pilot training sessions.
As part of this agreement, CAE will provide recommendations on the design of pilot training programs based on data collected from line operations and flight simulator training sessions. The combination of insights and de-identified data from line operations and pilot training sessions will enable the design of an Integrated Safety Management System to enhance CEBU’s flight safety and pilot training effectiveness.
