Indian Regulator DGCA announces ‘on demand’ licence exams for pilots

Currently examinations and license issuance is done four times per year and this will be increased to monthly written examinations. Additionally, the Indian DGCA will offer its new online on demand examination booking platform which will operate on a first come first serve basis and initially just for its New Delhi center. In addition to this announcement, the Rajya Sabha Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture released a report with a recommendation to establish a flight school in each state.

More than 1,900 Flights have been cancelled by American Airlines over the past few days said to be due to crew shortage!

In a memo, American COO David Seymour said the airline is “proactively canceling” flights to provide “scheduling certainty for our crews”.

American Airlines pilot and spokesman for the Allied Pilots Association, Capt. Dennis Tajer said a month ago that the union is particularly concerned with how the airlines will handle the surge in passengers during the Thanksgiving and December holiday periods. “We want that flying to get done, but we don’t want tickets sold that can’t be fulfilled,” he said. “Are they biting off more they can they chew?”

43 Air School, based in Port Alfred in the Eastern Cape, have a vacancy for dedicated and experienced Aircraft Maintenance Mechanics as well as qualified Junior Aircraft Maintenance Mechanics. You will be responsible for the servicing, inspection, repair and maintenance of aircraft before they are considered safe for flight. You will also be responsible for the management of several Air School apprentices. In addition, you will be eager to learn and willing to be hands-on in all aspects of our exciting work.

Required Experience:

– An aircraft mechanic trade test certificate.

– Preferably experienced on piston aircraft.
