Sharjah, United Arab Emirates-based aviation training group and full flight simulator training center Pier Seven Aviation’s CEO Capt. Abhishek Nadkarni attended the Aviation India Summit and Exhibition 2024 on June 12-23 at the W Marriott Hotel, New Delhi. The event served as a pivotal gathering that offered a platform for connecting with industry leaders and discuss pilot training industry developments.

At the event Pier Seven Aviation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with United Arab Emirates headquartered full flight simulator training center operator Pier Seven Aviation and global flight training group Airways Aviation, which operates pilot training academies across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and India to establish a collaborative partnership aimed at providing self-funded students and airline cadets with end-to-end pilot training solutions. This strategic alliance will focus on a comprehensive program to recruit and support aspiring pilots from their foundational and initial training through to type rating, guiding them on their journey to becoming airline-ready professionals primarily for the increasingly high demand in the Indian market.

With the combination of the Airways Groups EASA and CASA-approved ATOs across Europe and Australia and Pier Seven EASA-approved A320 and B737-800 Simulators, the partnership will provide Airline training solutions including Multi-crew Pilot License Training (MPL) competency-based training program to ensure aspiring pilots receive comprehensive, high-quality training that meets international airline and regulator standards.

We are committed to producing highly skilled pilots to meet the growing demands of the industry. Joining forces with the Airways Aviation Group will set new benchmarks in providing end-to-end solutions for both students and the airline industry,” said Capt. Abhishek Nadkarni, CEO of Pier Seven Aviation.

The partnership will focus on the implementation of a well-defined and structured training process and programs that are meticulously crafted to span all phases, adhering to regulatory and airline requirements. These programs will ensure that every aspect of professional airline pilot training is covered, preparing graduates to be ‘Type Rated’ and ‘Airline Pilot Ready’ to help them meet the rigorous demands of the industry.

This collaboration will maintain exceptional educational and training standards by utilising state-of-the-art training facilities, modern training aircraft, advanced simulators and experienced instructors. The highly measured training approach being adopted will facilitate the smooth transition of students and cadets from ab-initio through to their professional airline career outcomes.

By leveraging our combined strengths, we aim to help shape the future of the aviation industry in India and the region by streamlining processes and provide exceptional training support for students and cadets on their journey to becoming skilled, ‘Airline-Ready Pilots’. The collaboration with Pier Seven Aviation underscores the ongoing commitment of Airways Aviation to expand and grow its industry associations and partnerships to assure the capacity is there for SIM training and Type Ratings as needed” said Romy Hawatt – Airways Aviation Founder & Chairman.

Flight School Resource and Training Timeline Forecasting Tool, Aeroplanned, Releases 2nd ‘Excellence in Pilot-Training Planning’ Video

Aeroplanned, the pioneering resource planning platform for flight training, has launched a new video series to showcase its offering to the different pilot training industry stakeholders.

Aeroplanned is relatively new and unique in the industry, which can make it challenging to explain its full scope. Our key focus is to seamlessly connect the pilot training pipeline, ensuring smooth student progress and optimal outcomes for all involved. But what does that actually look like?

We thought it would be good to showcase some of our favourite features and how they tackle significant issues within the flight training industry.

Check out the first video in the series – Identifying delayed students (with an intro to our new ‘Cohorts’ feature!)

We believe every student needs a tailored plan moving forward. No matter the type of training, if you want the best outcomes for your flight school – optimised resources, happy students, correctly-booked flight tests, accurate hiring and upgrade plans, predictable revenue (the list goes on!) – every student needs a plan.

For some students, on-time completion is crucial. In this video, we’ll show how easy it is to use our software to resolve delays and ensure students finish on-time.

Why is this important?

  • For airline cadets with booked slots in full flight simulators
  • For students moving between bases for streamlined transitions
  • For students with hard end dates due to financial, travel, immigration, or job commitments
  • Or simply to deliver training to the agreed contract and keep the flight school running like clockwork

Aeroplanned makes it simple to resolve delays and ensure on-time completion, creating a win-win situation for everyone involved.
