Boeing India is poised to inaugurate a sprawling 43-acre complex situated within the Aerospace Park near Devanahalli’s Kempegowda International Airport. This venture represents a substantial investment of Rs 1600 crore, marking Boeing’s most significant facility outside of the United States of America. Boeing India aims to elevate its sourcing from India to Rs 10,000 crore annually, a step up from the current Rs 8000 crore.
Boeing’s existing operations in India are primarily based in New Delhi and encompass field service offices located in Mumbai, Hindan, Rajali, and New Delhi. They also include the Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) in Bengaluru and Chennai. Furthermore, Boeing recently revealed a $100 million commitment for infrastructure development and pilot training initiatives in India, prompted by a sizeable agreement with Air India for more than 200 aircraft, comprising 20 787 Dreamliners, 10 777Xs, and 190 737 MAX narrowbody aircraft.
Devanahalli has emerged as a pivotal hub due to its close proximity to Kempegowda International Airport and the forthcoming Blue metro line (KR Pura – Yelahanka – KIA), approved in April 2021. These factors have stimulated employment opportunities and heightened housing demand in the area, prompting Boeing to establish its most extensive facility in this strategically advantageous location.
