US Aviation Academy Expands Fleet to Over 130 Aircraft in 2024

Texas – United States based US Aviation Academy (USAA), one of the largest aviation and pilot training organisations in North America, added 6 aircraft over the last 3 months to grow its fleet to over 130 aircraft. 4 Cessna 172 single engine aircraft and 2 Piper Seminoles multi-engine aircraft were added to the fleet to support the growing flight training requirement by US Aviation Academy and its airlines partners.

Four airline partners visited US Aviation Academy’s Campuses in the month of June 2024 including Southwest Airlines with which US Aviation Academy operates the Destination 225 Cadet Pathway and Destination 225° Employee Pathway program.

Well known Canadian pilot training organisation the Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre (WWFC), located at the Region of Waterloo International Airport, announced significant expansion in November 2023 and in June 2024 it celebrated the grand opening of its new $1.8 million Aviation SIM Centre and Innovation Hub.

This state-of-the-art facility, developed in partnership with the Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF) and the Waterloo Institute for Sustainable Aeronautics (WISA), houses three new flight simulators: a Boeing 737, De Havilland Q-400, and Airbus 320. These simulators will enhance our training programs, including an improved Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) curriculum component, and provide students with exposure to various aircraft types, better preparing them for future airline employment. The sims will also support advanced research initiatives for WISA researchers in the aerospace sector to create a more sustainable aviation future!

The expansion adds 3,300 square feet, bringing the total to 10,000 square feet, with an investment of over $1.8 million. The green building practices include solar power supplementation, an upgraded energy-efficient HVAC system, and enhanced insulation for improved energy efficiency.” stated Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre.
