US Airline Visits L3Harris’ Flight Academy in Florida
Atlas Air went to L3Harris Commercial Aviation Solutions’s Flight Academy in Orlando, Florida to connect with future pilots. Atlas Air presented career opportunities available to students including the Atlas Gateway Travel (company paid commuting) Program. The Atlas Gateway travel program gives pilots the freedom and flexibility to live where they choose in the U.S., and commute to work with company paid airfare.
Atlas Air’s currently operates 89 aircraft including B747s, B777s, B767s, and B737s.

Takeoff Trim LLC, a USA based developer of NextGen training tools for the airlines, will begin offering their products to individual pilots to prepare for a new Type Rating. Takeoff Trim has the only VR capable package that also plays on computers and tablets. This is real Virtual Reality, but a VR Headset is not required. All content is web-based and can also be delivered offline through their mobile App.
Takeoff Trim’s Virtual Flight Deck package provides huge value to a new type-rating pilot because the 3D flight deck is always available to prepare for that first FTD session.
Their basic package is priced similar to paper posters, but provides immediate access with no shipping cost or delay. Users can print their Virtual Poster if desired.

US Flight School, Epic Flight Academy, Awards US$80,000 in 2023 Aviation Scholarship Winners
On Saturday, November 4, 2023, Florida, United States headquartered flight and maintenance training group Epic Flight Academy announced the recipients of the 8th Annual Aviation Scholarship Awards during a special event and career fair. Seven high school students received a total of $80,000 in scholarships. New Smyrna Beach Mayor Fred Cleveland presented the awards on behalf of Epic. Robert Brown and Orion Maka each won $20,000 for aircraft mechanic training. Juliana Gonzalez, Melissa Hernandez, Roger Roden, and Cody Stebbins each won $5,000 for flight training, and Shemuel Ortiz won $20,000 for flight training.
Epic’s Director of Education Cindy Lovell said, “The judges reviewed more than 50 applications from 16 states. The quality of applicants impressed everyone on the team. We are excited to welcome the 2023 scholarship winners to the Epic family.”
Danny Perna, Epic founder and CEO, added, “We’re extremely proud of these students look forward to getting them started in their training. We’re also grateful to our aviation partners who provided sponsorships and attended the career fair along with our college parters.”
Epic sponsors enjoyed a fishing tournament prior to the scholarship event. Piedmont Airlines won first place, FlyExclusive won second, and the third place team included Ameriflight and JS Firm.
Since Epic Flight Academy launched the annual scholarship event in 2016, the company has presented more than $360,000 to 27 students. The 2023 scholarship winners will begin training in 2024.
