Florida, United States based Phoenix East Aviation (PEA) shared that its Flight Training Department hosted a DGCA Conversion Workshop/Open Forum for their students to learn more about the process and procedures when planning to convert their FAA to DGCA Licenses after training with them.
“We are proud to have such knowledgeable team members who currently hold FAA and DGCA licenses, to make this transition as smooth and informative as possible for our international students coming from India,” said PEA.

US Flight Training Group, Epic Flight Academy, Holds Grand Opening at its Third Satellite Flight School Location
Epic Flight Academy, which is based in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, held a grand opening at its third satellite flight school location in Tucson, Arizona. The event took place on Friday, October 27, 2023. The Tucson Metro Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony and presented Epic with a proclamation. CommuteAir pilots brought in an Embraer ERJ-145 jet to celebrate the occasion. Members of the public attended and enjoyed refreshments, tours, and discovery flights.
Brock Rees, Director of Satellite Operations at Epic said, “We’ve received an incredibly warm welcome from everyone at Tucson International Airport and Million Air Tucson. They have been extremely helpful in setting up the flight school.”
Danny Perna, Epic’s founder and CEO added, “Tucson has been a great choice for another location for us. The climate and airspace are perfect for flight training. I also echo Brock’s sentiments. Everyone has been so helpful since we made the decision to open a new school here. The grand opening was an incredible event. We thank the Chamber, CommuteAir, and the staff at Million Air Tucson.”
Epic Flight Academy has been training airline pilots since 1999. Training typically takes about one year for U.S. students with no flight experience. International students may complete their training faster depending on the requirements of their respective countries.

Global flight training group Airways Aviation, which operates pilot training academies across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Oceanic region has welcomed as part of the team, Professor Miguel Moreira.
From Portuguese origin, Prof. Moreira is a respected scholar and well-known in the aviation training and education area, bringing 20+ years of experience in developing bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the field of Civil Aviation, he holds a PhD in Astrophysics and is also an EASA PPL(A) pilot.
He is currently Associate Professor at Atlântica – Instituto Universitário in Lisbon (Portugal), where he coordinates the bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management.
Prof. Moreira will integrate Airways Aviation global team as Business Developer Manager – Academic Partnerships, making the link between high schools, universities, and other education institutions with our organization, helping them create new programs and improve the existing ones. It will fill a key position in the development of the aviation education strategy set out by Airways Aviation globally.
Some of Prof. Moreira’s previous experience:
a) Founding member of the Technical Committee (CT190) for Aviation, Space and Defence of the Portuguese Quality Institute.
b) Former Director of Development and Programs, as well as Quality Manager, at the G Air Training Center (an EASA ATO acquired by L3 Harris in 2018) in Ponte de Sor, Portugal.
c) Since 2017, senior consultant for strategic development of the Ponte de Sor Aerospace Cluster and is also the Quality Manager of the Ponte de Sor Municipal Aerodrome.
d) President of the Conference Organizing Committee of Portugal Air Summit, the largest aeronautical event in the Iberian Peninsula.
e) Created several academic programs in Portugal, Angola and Sao Tome e Principe.
f) Director of the Aviation School of ISEC Lisboa University.
